Finnish translation services
One of the leading countries in Internet use, Finland is well-known for its cosmopolite character. In this far northern land English and Swedish are almost as widely spread as the official language, Finnish, which is spoken by over 5 million people worldwide.
Finnish is one of the Finno-Ugrian languages, a group that also includes Hungarian, Estonian, Lapp and several lesser known languages spoken in Russia. Due to the fact that these languages have developed separately for thousands of years, modern Finnish bears very few similarities to the others. The common knowledge that someone who speaks Hungarian can easily understand Finnish is dismissed by the almost 6000 years of separate development that resulted in the two languages sharing but a few common words and even fewer syntactical and morphological rules.
Finnish is definitely one of the most difficult and senseless (from the point of view of a decent linguist) European languages. Starting with the fact that Finns use no definite or indefinite articles and no grammatical gender, and ending with the verbs lacking passive forms, Finnish may prove a challenge to most translators.
New Lingo’s experienced native translators are able to carry out any project involving translations from/into Finnish, from document translations to technical and legal translations.
